Using the vipe command, we can read from stdin, edit the contents in the default editor and send it down the pipe.

Ditch capslock for escape in xwindows

Run this and your capslock will be changed to the escape key for the current session:

xmodmap -e 'clear Lock' -e 'keycode 0x42 = Escape'
